Positive Steps Stokenchurch opened in December 2004 and is situated locally in Stokenchurch near High Wycombe .Stokenchurch has a lovely village environment and is close to good commuter links. The nursery accommodates the differing needs of children from 6 weeks to 5 years. The nursery has specifically designed rooms to encourage child development and meet the needs of the individual age groups, as well as providing a large outdoor play area for the children to explore and learn. Children are cared for within the nursery by friendly and dedicated staff.
The nursery has a large outdoor area designed to inspire a child's imagination. Pirate boats, climbing apparatus, trikes and ride on toys, along with a good selection of specialist outdoor play equipment, all incorporating a variety of materials and safety surfacing, allowing children to play in a challenging, safe and stimulating environment. A minibeast and digging area, along with purpose built raised beds, allow opportunities for children to grow their own fresh vegetables and herbs evoking a natural curiosity in the world around them. A variety of trees and plants surround the garden, allowing children to observe the changing of seasons.
The nursery serves the village by encouraging social interaction with others in the community, with regular visits to the library and maintains strong links with the village school.
Positive Steps Day Nursery opened in December 2004. The Stokenchurch nursery caters for children aged 6 weeks-5 Years. Positive Steps is dedicated to providing the finest quality childcare and education, whilst meeting the children’s individual needs.
The nursery is a bright and modern building providing a warm welcoming atmosphere and is open from 7.45am-6.15pm Monday-Friday. The building has state of the art CCTV system covering all rooms and the outdoor area, together with a secure door entry system.
The nursery contains four large rooms in total; two baby rooms catering for children from 6 weeks old to 2 years, a toddler room catering for children from 2-3 years and a Pre-School for children aged 3-5 years old. The outdoor area is accessible throughout the day with soft safety flooring and a secure perimeter fence. Children can enjoy a variety of activities throughout the day including painting, sticking, sand/ water play, construction and outdoor play. On top of these daily activities we offer weekly visits to the library, French lessons and 15 other Educational Learning Programmes each week.
We have additional services available to the local community; including breakfast and lunch club and we also offer a walking bus to the local Primary School for the morning or afternoon session.
