Training
Training is important to us at Positive Steps. We firmly believe our staff should have the opportunity to improve their qualifications and knowledge whilst employed.
We offer one of the widest range of training courses available in the childcare industry and it is entirely possible for exceptional members of staff to work their way up through the Positive Steps organisation from Nursery Assistant to Nursery Manager.
All staff undertake an intensive 5 day induction training programme prior to a nursery opening which also includes the following statutory courses;
Chartered Institute of Environmental Health
- Basic Food Hygiene
EMP Medic First Aid
- Paediatric First Aid
Other courses available to ALL nursery staff are;
NVQ's
- Early Years Care and Education Level 3
- Early Years Care and Education Level 4
- Management Level 3
- Training and Development Awards Level 3 and 4
- Business Administration Level 3
Positive Steps is an Accredited Assessment Centre for City and Guilds and NNEBs.
Advanced Modern Apprenticeships
- Early Years Care and Education Level III and Key Skills II
Training
We offer a wide range of courses designed and delivered in house which support and refresh the necessary skills required to run a Positive Steps Nursery.
Special Needs & Behaviour Management
We appoint Special Needs and Behaviour Management Co-ordinators in all of our nurseries and all staff undertake Special Needs and Behaviour Management Training. Where a child has requirements outside our experience, further specialised training is available.
