The following are general descriptions for Positive Steps nursery jobs:
Nursery Manager: A supernumerary role. Must possess a minimum of 3-5 years post-qualification childcare experience, have excellent organisational and people management skills and thorough business awareness.
Deputy Manager: This position is room based. 2-3 years post qualification experience is required with visible qualities in management, team building and leadership.
Base Room Leader: Qualified room leader, responsible for all staff and children. Must demonstrate a proven track record of 1-2 years post-qualification experience preferably in a supervisory role.
Senior Nursery Nurse: Assisting the Unit Co-ordinator in the day to day base room activities. Usually with 1 year post-qualification experience and a desire to develop management skills.
Nursery Nurse: Must hold a relevant childcare qualification, be caring, committed and enthusiastic.
Nursery Assistant: An unqualified post calling for interest in working towards a childcare qualification, possibly with previous experience in a similar environment. Must be friendly, reliable and flexible.
Holiday and Relief Workers: To cover staff holidays and sickness. It is beneficial but not essential to have previous childcare experience.
Cook: A recognised catering qualification is preferred with a minimum of 1 years proven experience. Capable of working under pressure in an organised way.
Administrator: 2 years experience in an administrative environment id preferred. Skills in customer care, computer literacy and numeracy are essential.
